You can also enable two-step verification, set messages to self-destruct, and control who can see your phone number and last-seen status.
Which operating systems are supported?
Telegram runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), macOS 10.13 or later, most modern Linux distributions, Android 5.0 or later, and iOS 12.0 or later. If you cannot install an app, Telegram Web works directly in any modern browser without a download.
How do I install Telegram on Windows?
Go to the download page and choose 'Download for Windows'. Once the .exe installer finishes downloading, double-click it and follow the setup wizard. After installation, open Telegram, enter your phone number, and confirm the login code. Your cloud chats will sync automatically.
How do I install the Telegram APK on Android?
Download the APK from the download page. Your browser may ask permission to install apps from this source — allow it, then tap the downloaded file to install. You can also get Telegram from Google Play. After installing, sign in with your phone number to restore your chats.
Can I use Telegram on multiple devices at the same time?
Yes. Telegram is built around cloud sync, so you can be logged in on your phone, desktop and tablet simultaneously. Messages, media and settings stay in sync in real time. You can review and log out of active sessions at any time from Settings › Devices.
How do I update Telegram to the latest version?
On mobile, updates arrive automatically through Google Play or the App Store. On desktop, Telegram checks for updates on launch and can install them in the background; you can also re-download the latest installer from the download page and run it over your existing installation.
What is the difference between a cloud chat and a Secret Chat?
Cloud chats are stored securely on Telegram's servers so you can access them from any device. Secret Chats are device-specific and use end-to-end encryption, leave no trace on the servers, support self-destruct timers, and cannot be forwarded. Choose Secret Chats when you need the highest level of privacy.
